Details of these dogs above Archie -18 months old, looking for a new home through no fault of his own. As you can see from the photo, he is a happy little chappie and eager to please. He walks nicely on lead and is quick to learn. He knows several basic obedience cues and is very easy to train. He plays with toys nicely and takes treats very gently. We would prefer him to be rehomed with children over 10 as he is quite bouncy. Tyson - 3 yrs old, is looking for his forever home. He needs someone who is around quite a lot and who has the time and patience to commit to continuing his training. He is an affectionate boy and as you can see, sometimes thinks he is a lap dog! Tyson has lived with children. He does need to learn some manners and can be quite boisterous at times. He is not overkeen on other dogs so needs to be rehomed as the only dog in the house. He has lived with a cat but has been known to chase her at times. He would need very careful introductions to a cat and a way to separate them, at least to begin with.He can be quite vocal in the car but has been getting used to travelling. We are looking for a non rural home with a secure garden as Tyson would probably chase sheep given half a chance. Taylor - 13months old. Meet gorgeous girl Taylor, who is in need of a foster/permanent home. She is currently living with two other dogs and gets on really well with them. She is fantastic with all dogs she meets, has been around young children and is ok to be left for a few hours. She has a fantastic temperament and adores human company. Do you have a Taylor sized space on your sofa? Murphy - is 4 years old and is looking for a new loving home. He is currently living with an older female but Murphy just wants to play and play and play and she is finding it too much. He will be neutered by the rescue. Murphy walks really nicely on lead and loves long walks. His recall is pretty good but obviously a new owner would need to work on this.He is fine being left for a couple of hours although he can open doors! He loves playing with a ball and is fully house trained. He is used to being around small children and loves cuddling up with them. He can be a little anxious about new things and can be quite anxious in the car but soon overcomes this. He is not car sick and doesn't bark or whine on journeys. He is not keen on other dogs so would need to be rehomed as the only dog in the house. He can be quite vocal at times and would benefit from obedience training. He does have a cute little trick of "speaking" for a treat and training will not be a problem as he is very food motivated! Deefer - Deefer is around 8 years old. He is an affectionate boy and very typical of the breed in that he adores people. Great in the car, walks like a gentleman onlead, doesnt pull at all. Deefer is now in a foster home. We would consider a home with a calm older bitch as a possiblity too. Deefer will give you 100% attention, affection and love. He is so good at ignoring other dogs and so easily distracted from them. He passes other dogs fine and is ok with them. He has also passed a horse and he was not bothered by it. He is showing signs of excellent recall as he comes back every time he is called when running on a long line. Rocky - aged 6 - needs a new home due to his owner's change of work circumstances. He has all the basic commands with excellent recall. He tends to pull a bit on the lead at first but calms down after a few minutes. He can be a bit nervous of strangers in the home to start with and will go to his bed, but soon overcomes his shyness. He has lived with a female Staffie all his life so would be happy to live with a new friend. He is great meeting new dogs and just wants to play. He travels well in the car and is fine to be left home alone for a few hours. He would prefer to be in a home with older children. Rocky is neutered and vaccinated. Floyd - aged 1 - is looking for a new home through no fault of his own. He is currently living with another dog but they do not get on so are having to be kept separated. He is house trained, crate trained and obedience trained. Floyd needs a quiet, experienced home as the only dog in the house. Floyd went to puppy class when he was younger and needs someone who has the time and commitment to continue his training. He is very treat motivated so training will not be a problem. Because Floyd can be quite nervous around new things we are looking for a home that has staffie experience, time to commit to continuing his training and children should be 15+. He will be neutered, vaccinated and microchipped by the rescue.

Lexi - was saved from being put to sleep at the pound, she is a very friendly girl who loves nothing more than running around playing ball, she loves the company of people and stays very close by your side. She loves to be made a fuss of does try to please. Unfortunately Lexi does not like other dogs, she is very aggressive with them so for this reason the rescue would like a rural or semi-rural home for her. She has had some training and will take a telling but will also try to push boundries to suit her, with a stern telling she will stop. She would benefit from some further training. Georgie - is a beautiful small bitch who has had a very bad start in life. She was found by the police tied up on one of the busiest roundabouts in the area, and had been abused my passing local yobs and drunks. She tends to greet you with a bark but backs away as she is still scared. She protects her kennel space a little but on entering the kennel she is happy for snuggles and belly rubs. Cleo came over from Ireland and very little is know about her. She is a high energy dog and is looking for a new owner with just as much get up and go. The down side to this energy is that when she becomes excited she starts to mouth. This is a fixable problem as she has just never been corrected for this behaviour. Because of this we feel she would be better suited to someone where there are no young children around. Our volunteer took Cleo for a trip to the beach, she loved playing in the sea and chasing and retrieving a plastic bottle from the water. She gave mixed signals when she met other dogs, and dog socialising will need to be worked on in her new home. Cleo is a really loving girl with people and just wants affection. She has a great nose and would love to do some tracking, hill walking or even agility where she can use up her energy. When our volunteer took Cleo out she loved the car, very settled and quiet. She was also fine in the busy town and walked well on the lead.
Have you got the same amount of energy that Cleo has to be her new owner? You will have a great companion if you do.
SKYE is a lovely loyal family dog who is fantastic with the small children she lives with (1 & 4 years old). She was vocal when the volunteer went to the door but came out, had a sniff and was then very friendly. Unfortunately since Skye was a puppy she has been picked on by the older GSD in the house and this has caused her to be defensive when she sees other dogs (and horses), she barks and rears on her lead. Progress was made with this through socialisation and training classes last year but unfortunately the family do not have the time to commit to her ongoing training and she has lapsed back into her bad behaviour. Skye can be left at home alone with no issues and will make a fantastic companion for someone who is willing to put the work into her fear of other dogs. She needs to go to someone with GSD experience and time to commit to her.

My name's Chief, and although i'm a rather mucky pup in this picture I clean up real nice :-) I am 10months old and no body wants me, foster mum has had me for a month now and says i'm really good and love lots of cuddles. I love talking as well and i have a nice deep voice :-) I do have malamute and husky in me and so mummy says i'm not allowed to play with her her cat, I would love to chase him but havn't managed yet. cats smell nice, not like yappy little dogs, don't think i could live with one of them. I love the small humans, theyre so much fun but mummy says i have to be careful not to bowl them over, whatever that means! if you think you will be able to love me and cuddle me forever, please get in touch with mummy or saints sled dog rescue. chief x Please click the link above Chief to take you to the website where you can make enquiries about Chief if you are interested in him. ********************** Adopt an Oldie - lots of lovely dogs in their autumn years looking for homes.
